The newsletter of GBRW Expert Witness
February 2022
Over the past two years, the publication of our newsletter has coincided with a number of crisis points linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. Sadly, this edition appears at the time of a new and grave geopolitical crisis with the potential to affect millions of lives. We can only hope that all levels of Russian society will be reassessing the implications of the unprecedented invasion of a sovereign European state.
In this edition of Expertise:
•Following discussions which started in the fourth quarter of last year, we are delighted to announce an understanding for co-operation between GBRW Expert Witness and the Baltic Expert Witness Association. BEWA operates under the umbrella of the Baltic Exchange, a membership organisation with a long history at the heart of the global maritime marketplace since 1744.
This development is another step in our expanding practice in the area of trading and trade finance and complements the expert support that we can offer in trading physical commodities (including steel and other metals) and commodity derivatives, as well as marine, aviation and trade credit insurance and shipping finance.
•In our second article, my colleague Tim Dowlen provides an update on recent developments in the field of Covid 19-related insurance claims following his previous article on this in May 2021.
My colleagues and I send our best wishes to all of you facing security and health challenges and our hopes that 2022 will see some more positive developments as the year progresses.
Managing Director,
GBRW Expert Witness
